Publisher and byline
SproutsDaily is the publisher responsible for this site. Legacy articles previously carried a migration username; public articles now use the collective byline SproutsDaily Editorial Team so responsibility is clear without inventing an individual author. Editorial questions, corrections and source requests can be sent to hi@sproutsdaily.com.
Our source hierarchy
For nutrition data we prefer USDA FoodData Central or another named government database record. For food safety we prioritize current CDC, FDA and other public-health guidance. Peer-reviewed research may add context, but preliminary, laboratory or animal evidence is not presented as proof of a clinical benefit.
Commercial health articles may be used to understand common questions, but they do not override primary research or authoritative guidance. Sources are linked near the relevant claim or in a source section when practical.
Food-safety standard
Raw or undercooked sprouts can carry pathogens. Rinsing, sanitizing seeds and careful home growing may reduce some contamination but cannot guarantee safety because contamination can begin in or on the seed. The conservative safer choice is to cook sprouts thoroughly until steaming hot.
Pregnant people, children under five, adults 65 and older, and people with weakened immune systems should avoid raw or undercooked sprouts. This standard applies across every SproutsDaily article, including recipes and older migrated guides. Culinary descriptions of raw or crisp sprouts are not a claim that they are risk-free.
Nutrition and health claims
We distinguish measured nutrient amounts from broader health outcomes. A food containing a nutrient does not prove it prevents disease, treats symptoms or causes weight loss. When evidence is uncertain, we use cautious language such as “may,” state the study type and avoid presenting supplements or extracts as equivalent to normal food portions.
Interactive comparisons are educational snapshots based on identified records. They are not personalized medical advice and should not be used to diagnose or treat a condition.
Review and updates
Articles are reviewed for source quality, internal consistency, clear limitations, food-safety wording and material changes to public guidance. Dates and sources are updated when a change affects the conclusion. Shared data and safety rules are applied across the library so similar claims do not drift between pages.
Corrections
Readers can report an error from the Contact page or by emailing hi@sproutsdaily.com. Please include the page URL, disputed statement and supporting source. We review substantive reports, correct confirmed errors promptly and update related pages when the same issue appears elsewhere.
Independence and commercial relationships
Editorial conclusions are not sold to advertisers. If SproutsDaily publishes sponsored or affiliate material in the future, it will be clearly labeled and will not receive favorable safety or health conclusions in exchange for payment. Advertising is kept separate from navigation and editorial controls.
Images and third-party material
We use original assets, licensed assets, public-domain material or third-party media with an identified source and permitted use. Rights holders can send a detailed notice to hi@sproutsdaily.com. We investigate credible notices and remove or correct material when appropriate.
